Christians, Muslims unite against B’Haram
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor Christians and Muslims in Nigeria have commenced a dialogue that will reduce the activities of Boko Haram insurgency in the country. At the forum of Christian/Muslim interactive conference in Abuja, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, attributed the increase in the activities of Boko Haram Islamic sect to insincerity and untruthfulness on the part of most Nigerians. He said, Nigeria would be a better place for all, if people eschew bitterness and refrain from sacrificing truth on the altar of politics. His comments came on the heels of another attack in Borno State, during which a soldier and 74 other persons were killed.
Man kills and roasts mum in Anambra (.. Suspect accuses mother of witchcraft)
A 29 -year old- man has been arrested by the Anambra State police command for killing and roasting his mother in Ndikpa Awuka, a community in Orumba South local government area of the state. The suspect, Ekene Ucheagwu, killed 65- year- old Agnes Ucheagwu in May, accusing her of using witchcraft to prevent the family’s progress. The police spokesman in the state, Uche Ezeh, a deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), told reporters at the office of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SAR) in Awkuzu that the suspect would face the full wrath of the law. He said the suspect committed the crime after he was released at Umuchukwu police station for beating the woman mercilessly. In his confession on Tuesday, Ucheagwu admitted that he killed his mother, alleging that the woman prevented the progress of her children and indeed that of the family. According to him, his elder brother, aged 45, is still unmarried because of their “mother’s witchcraft and curses on the children.”...
