Barely 24 hours after the attack on the Federal Government college in Yobe state where 43 young students were killed, suspected men of the Islamist group yesterday night attacked settlers at Kirchinga, Michika, Shuwari and Shuwa district all in Adamawa state. Several cars, houses, catholic churches, shops and even a First Bank Complex were burnt down. The men also burnt down 3 catholic churches in Shuwari as well as a seminary school, Saint Joseph Minor Seminary in Shuwa. The armed men came in nine Toyota Hilux vans, firing guns and throwing explosives. 9 people have so far been confirmed dead, including a staff of Bank of Agriculture. Spokesman of 23rd Armour Brigade, Yola, has confirmed the incident. Nine Toyota Hilux vans? Wow!

There are reports that Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke was involved in a terrible accident in Ghana. The accident was said to have occurred around Kanda Highway in Accra on his way to the location of a new movie, last week Saturday. The actor was reported to have gone into coma but he's now in stable condition at the Nyaho Medical Centre in Accra, Ghana where he's been admitted. Jim Iyke's girlfriend, Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari is said to have been taking good care of him.

•Seun Aderinwale: Exhanged for 2 bags of rice A yet to be identified man on Monday successfully traded a 15-year old boy, Seun Aderinwale, for two bags of rice valued at N20,000 at Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria. According to eyewitness account, the man, whose address is unknown, went to 4, Ifesowapo Street, Igando, on Monday morning to buy two bags of rice from a shop owned by a woman identified as Iya Ibrahim. The rice seller was not available at the time but her son, Ibrahim, agreed to the man’s proposal to drop Seun, an Aluminium apprentice, as collateral, in order to collect the two bags  of rice and return later to pay. However, when the shop owner returned in the afternoon, she was surprised to see Seun who was dropped there in exchange for the two bags of rice taken away by the unidentified man.
